The After-life
I recently read a book that affected me profoundly - more than any book I have ever read. Yes, even more than the Holy Bible. "Heaven and Hell: The Journey of Chris and Serena Davis" by Kenneth Zeigler. It combines, according to the author, fiction and reality; a reality based on his personal experiences and visions.
The book tells a story of where souls will spend eternity after leaving this earthly plane. For the non-Christians, it may probably seem like a propagation of the basis of Christianity - Jesus is the truth and the way, anyone who believes in Him and follows Him shall have eternal life. Maybe. But I believe that a man, a holy man - and that he was a holy man and without parallel in history is not in doubt as independent Jewish chronicles (and they hated the man!) tell us of the many miracles he performed while he walked this earth - was crucified for sins he committed not. And he said he came to die for mankind and that those who accept the sacrifice of his life may be saved.
I digress though. The point of today's blog is to share the book and it's message - if you do e-books, it is available on Amazon Kindle. Otherwise, Amazon sells the book and they deliver to Nigeria AND accept our debit cards.
The book has forced me to take a really good look at my life and ask myself - where will I spend eternity? The accounts of the suffering in hell shook me and the thought that there may even be a minuscule chance that I or anyone I know may end up there was unpalatable to my soul, to put it mildly. What part of the book is fiction and what part is reality? The writer tells us not and so we are forced to wonder. Whatever part is fiction matters not to me - all that matters is I do not end up in the wrong place.
In it also is the message of God's everlasting mercy. Of His loving-kindness and His everlasting love of every single one of His creatures - good and bad.
Read the book if you can.
Have a great week.
